STEEL ROOFING

This is why you should choose steel roofing.

Durability

Longevity is one of the most common reasons consumers choose metal roofing for their homes. With metal roofing, you do not need to worry about the longevity of your roof. When installed properly, metal roofing can last as long as fifty years, or even more. They also require very little maintenance. Since metal roofing is so durable and low maintenance, metal roofing can actually cost less than asphalt roofing. Asphalt roofing needs to be replace up to 5 times more often as metal roofing.

Energy Efficient

Homeowners are now starting to seek out energy-saving building materials for their new homes and renovations. The biggest obstacle here is finding a product that not only secure, but provides long-term cost-cutting on energy bills. Steel roofing not only accomplishes this, it also promotes environmental and economic sustainability in the greater community.

Recycled Material

Metal roofs are made of 25% recycled content at minimum. This number can also reach as high as 100%. Due to the high percentage of recycled content, metal roofing is commonly listed as “green”. It is also 100% recyclable when removed from the building at end of the life cycle. Metals are exceptional building materials that can credibly claim both recycled content and recyclability by recognized definitions.

Variety

Today’s residential metal roofing is made to look exactly like common roofing material – such as asphalt shingle, cedar shake, clay tile or slate roofing. While accomplishing this, metal roofing is also stronger and more durable. Some styles include Vertical Panels, Metal Shake, Metal Tile, and Metal Shingle. We will work with you to directly to select the right style and color for your home or business.

Myths

Metal roofs risk lighting strikes.

It turns out a metal roof is actually much safer than other roofing materials. Metal definitely conducts electricity, but it does not attract it. This means the odds are exactly the same as your shingle or asphalt roof, but with a much lesser risk of fire due to it being metal.

Metal roofs are noisy during rain.

If your roof was solely made of metal sheets, with no form of under-layer, this may be true. Metal roofs are installed over a pre-existing roof using rafters, insulation and other materials between your ceiling and the roof. This is to ensure structural integrity, but also will eliminate most noise due to rain.

Metal roofs rust.

Modern metal roofing materials are treated with a zinc, aluminum or combination coating that resides under a layer of paint. This makes your roof almost impossible to rust. There is also a 30 year warranty on all materials, to add another level of protection.
